Original John William Haynes Victorian painting of Mother sewing and child. Haynes specialised in genre painting, recording the everyday events of Victorian life, scenes of figures and cottages. He gained considerable representation exhibiting in the London Galleries showing eight works at the Royal Academy, twelve at the British Institution and twenty six at the Royal Society of British Artists J W Haynes was active between about 1852 to 1880
